Metta massage

Welcome to Metta massage, a professional home clinic located in Bargara QLD. In Pali-“metta” means positive energy, kindness and active interest in others. This is what I want you to feel when visiting my clinic – calm, peaceful, relax, and cared.

The clinic space is located at a converted car garage with separate entrance from the house. You are welcome to choose from a relaxation, deep tissue or remedial massage. If you are not sure which massage type you need, please select any massage and we can discuss to get you the best option that suits you.

The focus here at Metta massage is to provide a quality massage treatment based on knowledge of pathology, anatomy and physiology, and active listening, I treat the individual conditions of your body through relaxation and targeted treatments.

Booking

Please choose what day and what time that suit you, what type of massage you want, how long you are looking for, any addition treatment you may want such as hot stones or cupping.
1. You can choose to pay for your session by credit card when you book online or cash/bank transfer when you are at the clinic. Unfortunately, I do not have eftpos machine at the clinic.
2. You will receive sms reminder 24 hrs before your appointment. If you are a new customer - a client’s intake form will be sent to you. Please complete it and send it back before your session.
3. If you cannot come to your appointment, please reschedule or cancel your appointment within 3 hours before your appointment. You will get full refund. If cancellation is less than 3 hours, treatment fees will be fully charged.

Your massage session
1. Before treatment, I will discuss with you about your health history and your goal for treatment. I may perform some orthopedic tests to find out the cause of problem.
2. During massage session, I will start with slow, gentle techniques to warm up muscles. I will apply advanced massage techniques where appropriated. For remedial massage, you may be asked to move your body to different positions to allow massage techniques to apply on different muscles. Please let me know if you are uncomfortable with pressure, positions, or room temperature.
3. After session, I will check how you feel and answer any questions you might have. I will provide you with after care advice to maximize the effects of massage and encourage speeding recovery.

I have completed Diploma in Remedial massage from Q Academy from Sunshine Coast. I was also trained Thai massage from Bangkok Education Center, Thailand. Deep tissue massage

More info Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure, aiming to treat deeper layers of muscle and surrounding connective tissues. Massage session will start with light pressure to warm up muscles before applying firm pressure using various techniques such as stripping and friction. It is not unusual to feel some discomfort during or after massage session as deep pressure is used to release muscle tension, trigger point, adhesions, and scar tissue. However, therapist and client need a good communication in order to apply an appropriate pressure. View less

Remedial massage

More info Remedial massage is used to treat damaged tissue, pain, muscle imbalance, and trigger point. Remedial therapist uses various techniques such as neuromuscular technique, myofascial release, muscle energy technique, trigger point therapy and stretching. The pressure applied during treatment can be either strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the problem. Some techniques may require client to perform active movement during treatment. Before and after session, therapist usually perform orthopedic test to find out the problem and evaluate the outcome. It is important to understand that remedial massage is designed to focus on a few areas at a time. One hour treatment may not cover full body. View less
